The Zambia Information and Communication Technology College Ltd was established with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) through its agents, the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the Universal Postal Union (UPU). The College was officially opened in 1972 by the then Zambian Minister of Power, Transport and Works Mr Fwanyanga Mulikita.
The College initially catered exclusively for the Post and Telecommunications Company training needs. Later, the College began offering training to individuals and organisations in addition to in-service training.
Over the years, the College has diversified and extended its service to include a number of locally and internationally accredited programmes offered to numerous individuals, business houses, NGOs, parastatals, government departments and the defense forces.
Zambia ICT College is a vocational and technical college registered under the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA). The college is owned by Government and its administration is currently overseen by the Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA).
